Data Bias

• a type of error that systemically skews results in a certain direction

• Sampling Bias : when a sample is not representative of the population as a whole

  • ex. getting surveys not done by all identifiers in a specific specturm (only man or only woman)

• Observer Bias (experimenter bias / research bias)

  • the tendency for differnet people to observe things differently
  • ex. manual blood pressure measurement

• Interpretation Bias

  • the tendency to alaways interpret ambiguous situations in a positive or negative way

• Confirmation Bias
  • the tendency to search for or interpret information in a way that confirms pre-existing beliefs
